The annual Chardon Girls' Youth Basketball Tournament is a premier event for girls' community travel teams in the 4th through 6th grades. The 2010 tournament will be held March 15-21. As usual, we are expecting good competition among teams from several northeast Ohio counties. Only certified officials are used.

NEWS
Eight teams are admitted for both the 5th and 6th grade tournaments, while the 4th grade tournament is limited to four teams. Please get your registration in early; we have filled past tournaments well in advance.

All teams are assigned to 4-team pools. To keep travel to a minimum, you are scheduled for one weeknight pool game and two Saturday games (Sunday for 4th grade teams). The top two teams from each pool in the 5th and 6th grade tournaments advance to playoffs on Sunday to determine those age-group champions. The 4th grade championship is based on pool record only. For all grades, individual trophies are awarded to each player on the 1st and 2nd place teams.

A differentiator of the Chardon Girls’ Youth Basketball Tournament is an addition of contests that add fun events to complement the competitive games in the schedule. These highly popular contests are composed of a series of three, basketball-themed matches that take place among teams during a scheduled 1-hour period on Saturday (5th and 6th grades) or Sunday (4th grade). Each contest is a fun, mini-event with its own awards independent of the tournament competition. Medals are awarded to each participant on each of the winning contest teams.

We take great care in scheduling to ensure you will not have to play back-to-back for your games, and that you will not have to wait more than an hour between games and/or your contest session. See the Pool Schedules tab above for detailed scheduling information.

GENERAL INFORMATION
All games are played at the Chardon middle and high schools. All teams are scheduled for a minimum of 3 games. All teams are also required to participate in the contests during their scheduled 1-hour session. More information can be found under the Tournament Rules and the Contest Rules tabs.

Note: The tournament is now full in all grade divisions.
